“Batteries and fuel cells are established contenders to power laptops and mobile phones, but now researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have come up with a novel approach to the power conundrum - by building an engine on a chip.”
Engine on a chip drives laptops
More excellent news in the energy world. Lots of great things happening here. I can’t wait until my phone can go months without needing a charge. Even better, imagine the savings on batteries for all those toys my kids have. Don’t get too excited though. So far they have only tested the individual piece parts. An integrated engine is the next step and as we all know, integration is typically the hardest part of any product development. But there is hope. Wonder how this will fare with the likes of fuel cells and new battery technology. after all, “The users don’t care about what powers their laptop.” - as long as it works and its cheap.
